This is a remote contract position from July to December 2026 and is open to candidates who have a current valid Reliability level Government of Canada security clearance, or higher.
Position Summary
The Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog, representing stakeholder needs, and ensuring the team is focused on delivering the highest-value work. This role serves as the link between business strategy and technical delivery in a data-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for execution.
Represent business and end-user needs, making prioritization decisions that maximize value delivered each PI.
Participate in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
Review and accept completed work against defined acceptance criteria.
Use Oracle SQL to validate data outputs, assess request feasibility, and support prioritization decisions.
Collaborate with Business Analysts and technical leads to refine requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and resolve gaps before development begins.
Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate priorities and delivery status.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Oracle SQL – Intermediate proficiency required.
Product Management – Advanced proficiency required.
Product Development – Advanced proficiency required.
Experience managing product backlogs, user stories, and prioritization within an Agile environment.
Experience working closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, and technical teams.
Ability to use data analysis and SQL queries to validate solutions and support product decisions.
